With less than two weeks to the president-elect,
Muhammadu Buhari’s inauguration speculations grow over supposed
appointments of the ministers.
Buhari will be submitting a cabinet list for security permission soon.
The president-elect during his electoral campaign pledged women will not be suspended by his government. See list of 4 women we believe may make it into Buhari’s cabinet.
1. Senator Aisha Alhassan
Aisha Alhassan was the APC gubernatorial aspirant for Taraba state and is loved by Nigerian women.
Many Nigerians thought voters in Taraba state would make history by choosing the nation’s first female governor.
But Aisha, known as “Mama Taraba” by her supporters, lost to her key contender, Darius Ishaku of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Mama Taraba with delegation from her state has recently visited Muhammadu Buhari.
2. Hadiza Bala Usman
After the seizure of more than 200 schoolgirls from the remote town of Chibok last April, 2014, Hadiza Bala Usman, a Nigerian activist and political rising star, found that she could not sleep. The girls, who were grouped together to sit exams, were abducted from their dormitories in the dead of night by Boko Haram militants.
She is one of the covernors of BringBackOurGirls campaign and one of the most vocal women in the presidential campaign that produced Buhari.
3. Abike Dabiri
After 12 years in the National assembly, Abike Dabiri won’t be coming back. She’s currently one of the most voiced women in the APC with an eye for foreign affairs.
She is warmly called “Mother of Theresa of the tube”. Abike Dabiri prides herself in her outstanding career as a broadcaster. She spent 15 years of distinguished and meritorious service at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
She also was one of the legislators that stood against the third term bid of the ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo.
4. Oby Ezekwesili
Oby Ezekwesili is a former minister of education and co-founder of the Bring Back Our Girls Group.
Ezekwesili was made the list of the world’s 100 most influential people alongside with the president-elect, Buhari.
If the APC can accomplish the chaos her nomination will cause, she process will definitely make it into Buhari’s cabinet.
Oby Ezekwesili is predicted as the new minister of education and youth development.
Meanwhile, the APC denied lists of Buhari’s appointments being circulated by some online media sources.
