A lot of people will frown when they get an uninvited guest at their wedding, except that guest is the President of the United States, Barrack Obama.
That’s what happened when a couple decided to have their wedding at Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla. Stephanie and Brian Tobe were about to tie the knot, when the President came to enjoy some golfing at the course.
“We saw the two SUVs that were the Secret Service SUVs, so then we knew he was on the course,” the groom told CNN affiliate KGTV.
“We got word that we needed to delay the ceremony or start immediately,” Youngren said.
The couple opted to wait for the President to finish the 18th hole, and enjoyed champagne while trying to catch a glimpse of him.
After watching the president finish out, the couple ran up to Obama, who took pictures with them and members of their family.
“President Obama was kind and wonderful. When he shook Brian and Stephanie’s hands, he apologized for delaying the ceremony and then shared some advice with Brian (who is also from Chicago),” the couple’s photographers, Jeff and Erin Youngren, shared on their personal blog site.
