US Singer, Ciara Dazzles On Essence Cover; Talks Future & Russell Wilson
Ciara is keeping busy. Ahead of her hosting duties at next month’s Billboard Music Awards, the newly-engaged singer spreads some sunshine on the May 2016 cover of ESSENCE.
Sitting on a swing, revealing her shoulders in a low-cut dress, the “Body Party” hitmaker is surrounded by flowers in the springtime shoot, photographed by Dennis Leupold.
The cover bills the superstar as a “modern mom” and promises that Ciara “gets real about the men in her life, that ring, and finally finding her bliss.”
Check out highlights from the issue, which hits newsstands April 15.
On Baby Future: “I’d always wanted to have my own family. And my pregnancy was planned when I was at a point in my life when I was finally ready to take on the responsibility.”
On her breakup with Future: “That wasn’t necessarily part of my vision. But the moment I realized I was going to be a single mother, I had to reflect and reorganize my thoughts. I decided to trust that God had a plan for me, and move forward one day at a time.”
On fiancé Russell Wilson: “I remember telling my friend the kind of guy I wanted: a God-fearing man with a very fun spirit who loves kids and would really, truly care for me. I was very specific because I do believe you can have it all.”
Earlier today, Ciara was on hand to announce the nominees for the Billboard Music Awards. When it came to announcing her ex Future’s name in the category of Top Rap Artist, she went silent and let her co-host Ludacris say his name.
