In a recent interview with NET, Kunle Afolayan said his latest film, October 1 is Nigeria’s highest grossing box office movie and it has done far better than any other film ever put on DStv’s box office in Nigeria.
Afolayan said “I don’t have the figures yet, but someone told me recently that it has done better than all the films they have ever put on box office – both local and foreign. ‘In terms of figures, I don’t know how much that has translated to, but that’s what I’ve been told.”
According to reports, Ayo Makun’s 30 days in Atlanta is the highest grossing movie and reportedly grossed N76m in seven weeks at the cinemas. Kunle’s October 1 currently stands at Number 4 on the chart of highest grossing Nollywood movies of all time.
