Rihanna Channels ‘Scandal’s’ Olivia Pope During White House Visit

Rihanna

While in Washington, D.C. for a Veteran’s Day concert, Rihanna paid a visit to the White House on Monday. The pop superstar and her crew got a private tour of President Obama’s digs at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, and also had some fun reenacting scenes from ABC’s hit political drama “Scandal.”

While standing at the podium in the press briefing room, RiRi pretended to be “Scandal” Press Secretary Abby Whelan (“#heyAbby,” she wrote), and posed with her pals including BFFs Melissa Forde and Jenn Rosales in the West Wing.

“West Wing Posse!! We wanna be O.P.A. so bad!!! #DayAtTheWhiteHouse,” she said.

With purse in hand, the fashionista stood at a payphone and channeled Kerry Washington’s well-dressed character Olivia Pope.

“CYRUS!!! LET ME IN!!” #DayAtTheWhiteHouse,” she said, referring to Cyrus Beene (played by Jeff Perry), and also shouted out Tony Goldwyn’s character President Fitzgerald Grant (“Fitz, darling…”).

The real Olivia Pope, Kerry Washington, approved, retweeting a photo and writing, “True #gladiators.”

Later today, Rihanna will salute the nation’s veterans by performing at “The Concert for Valor” at the National Mall. Other performers include Eminem, Bruce Springsteen, Metallica, and Carrie Underwood.
