Rihanna Gets Sued For “Rockstar 101″ Video

rih lips

Rihanna hasn’t put out an album since November of 2012 (Unapologetic), but that hasn’t kept her out of the headlines in any capacity. When she isn’t showing up all the attendees of an award show or gala with a stunning dress and dissing artists whose success can’t match hers on Twitter, Rih’s posing topless for Vogue, bottomless for a French magazine, and keeping the internet in the eternal good girl gone bad frenzy they’ve been in for almost 10 years.

This time however, Rihanna’s probably wishing this was a headline her name wasn’t associated with. The Barbados native is getting sued for $6.64 million dollars in damages by David LaChappelle, who put together this light set for a Vogue Italia fashion shoot.

On the other hand, Rihanna’s “Rockstar 101″ single, which appeared on her platinum-selling Rated R album in 2009, had a Melina Matsoukas-directed music video which featured the below setup, which appears to be a very vivid re-enactment of LaChappelle’s work:

While there’s no information on when exactly LaChappelle created that set for Vogue, we’d imagine he’d only think he’d have a valid suit against one of the world’s biggest celebrities if there’s clear cut evidence that pictures of his set were published before the “Rockstar 101″ video.
